Good question.
Many operating systems can be adjusted to make the print larger, although this cuts down the amount of words on the screen it does mean that they can be seen easier.
When using Windows: in 'control panel' you can access 'Accessibility options' and other means to assist in this.
You can also adjust your screen resolution so that everything on your screen becomes bigger, although not as much is then displayed.
A word of warning! do NOT adjust it too much if trying this out, as you MAY have to use the keyboard controls to get your picture back to normal.
Many visually impaired people can see something, with various degrees of clarity and so can sometimes see large print, and are able to use a pc.
The programs I posted can assist in using a pc.

TidyRead for Firefox is good. I use it myself a lot. Find it here:

It's not perfect, but very useful.

Visual impaird people sometime also use a software voice program that is called "JAWS" (Job Access With Speech) which enables VIP to be able to have access to the net, go to TAFE, Uni and be employed in positions they feel able to qualify for that involves use of computers and internet, it is a fantastic resource that removes the barrier to social event as well as finding employment. Here @ wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JAWS_(screen_reader) it's a shame about the high cost though, but some charities are able to help and some employment places pay for it etc. so it is not impossible for a VIP to access:)
we have this at our work place for a fellow colleague and I have seen this being used, wow, technology has certainly come a long way and help so many get over so many hurdles other wise not able to access before.
Its a shame scammers use the privilage of todays technology to abuse it by attacking the vulnerable and unaware, as well as taking for granted what others need to get by as a form of communication or resources:mad:
