This quote from NZ police reads like a line between farce stupidity, it basically translates to "We really have no clue what to do "

Sadly, this is precisely the attitude of NZ Police.

Their view is apparently that their job is to arrest criminals rather than protect the law-abiding.

So, if no crime is committed (or even if there is a crime committed, but not in NZ) the NZ Police have zero interest.
