Is this the email he used to contact you with; info@rjstrading.co.in?
If you Google your contact phone number, you will find that it leads to this other company;
http://www.tootoo.com/d-cu11960627-Varrshini_Enterprises/
The phone number itself is that of a mobile phone and not a landline.

Yes shinyu, one suggestion would be that you hire a due diligence firm to do this work for you. I've explained before that we are not professionals, but volunteers who try and point to signs of fraud. While doing this, we hope that the members questioning us will learn and begin doing the work by themselves. I have not seen this sign in your posts so far, even though I showed you the basic steps of spotting scams a few times already.

Dodobird,
I got this companies request via B2B website (http://www.exporters.sg),
info@rjstrading.co.in is the email this company provided for contact within the email he sent.
Looks ambiguous, but its a gold supplier + A&V checked supplier, so I kinda dont know whether its real or not.
Much thanks^^

Unfortunately, Alibaba has many scammers utilizing its services, so there is no assurance that a company posting on there is authentic. If they are scammers, they might wish to pay via a counterfeit check. Do you know how to access the headers in the email that was sent to you? The domain rjstrading.co.in was registered on 4-May-2010 for four years. Most scammers only register a fake website for one year because there is a good possibility it will removed for abuse long before a year is up. However, this is NO guarantee that the website and company are legitimate or that the domain and website actually belong to the person who sent you the email.

We are not in a position to offer an opinion as to the authenticity of any company. We look for obvious signs of a scam which might show up in a Google search of the email address, telephone number, name of the company, etc. We also tend to be able to recognize certain indicators of a scam. However, we can not guarantee that a company is authentic! As Dodobird states, you would need to hire a professional to do due diligence on the company.

The economics of the whole thing don't make any sense. As previously discussed elsewhere, the shipping costs on steel are going to eat up any profit margin they might have in buying from you and shipping it from Taiwan. Steel is heavy and that means putting it on a boat from point A to point B and that isn't cheap to do.
And as above, please stay away from the website.

Templar is correct. It's unusual for a company to give out two domain (website) urls. Many times scammers register a domain name and only use it to send out emails. Those email addresses appear more legitimate than a free email address. Also, it is very important to access the headers on the email. That would tell where it originated from and it may not have come from the website. Some scammers simply cite a legitimate website though it does not belong to them hoping that you will reply to the fake email address they have supplied. Apart from payment with a counterfeit check, where scammer hopes that the check is good enough to fool the bank long enough for you to ship the goods, there is the possibility that they may request advance fees which can be just about anything, bribes, government payments, kickbacks. These fees would be requested before any transaction would take place and they would likely insist on them being sent via Western Union/Money Gram or even bank to bank transfer. Do not send any advance fees under any circumstances.
GG is right as concerns the economics of this transaction. One of the reasons they may be seeking to buy a commodity so far from their own country is to ensure that there is a jurisdictional barrier to any potential prosecution should they succeed in scamming you. If you need assistance in getting the headers please pm me or another member.

We have checked out hundreds of companies in China,some of the companies , even the gold members of Alibaba(B2B website) turned out to be a business scammer. so be careful doing business with foreign companies.
ask them for the exact contact information,and the most important ,trade reference.
