Definitely a geographically-challenged scammer.

For those of you who do NOT know the answer to today's trivia question, the Isle of Man is part of the UK and is located offshore of those fair isles. By placing it in Japan, the scammer has only missed it by about 12,000 miles. I guess he will not win any prizes today. Except for becoming famous for his stupidity.

Oh, and it's a scam.

1. Although there are no headers, it's very likely this scam email came from Benin because this format is particularly popular there for some reason. The only other place that it occurs sometimes is Cote d'Ivoire.
2. The email is sent from a free email server, yahoo.fr, and asks you to reply to an email at pc.nu, another free email server. In fact, .nu is not a country designator but is sort of like a blank hole in the wall where anyone can register anything.
3. There is no check. The scammers might show you a copy of a fake check with your name on it but we have plenty of fake checks in the Photshop of Horrors. The scammers are going to ask for a lot of money in advance before they "release" your check to you. That's how this scam works.
4. This email asks for a lot of personal information, and that always spells s-c-a-m. And if Rosemary Zhong hasn't forgotten your past effort why doesn't she know your name? Can you spell "scammer"?
5. www.scamomatic.com will confirm this is a scam.
