    The Freemasons are aware!

This type of scam has been around for quite a while! I have contacted The Freemason society of Bournemouth, using the correct terms. They are aware of these scammers and have reported them and taken other action against the scammers!
These may be some new ones?
It is most unwise to try and use such a large organization as the Freemasons to scam people with! as they have many members and some very good contacts!

    A warning from Grand lodge

This is from "The grand Lodge of England"

    'Masonic' Email Scam

We have previously warned about two email scams claiming to be from the Freemasons of Winchester and Bournemouth offering shares in a Masonic Charity payout. New scams are appearing claiming to be from a Grand Lodge of England with an email address including "grandlodgeofengland". That is not an address used by the United Grand Lodge of England. The UGLE itself does not offer charity payments and our Masonic Charities do not make unsolicited offers of assistance by email to anyone. The offers being made by email are a scam to gain access to an individual's bank details. They have been reported to the appropriate authorities.

The Freemasons do a lot of charitable work, but as is mentioned here, they do not send emails 0ffering money or membership!
