I am beyond stupid..been scammed, each time with a much different story; however, have any of you noticed most of these come through with well known, well educated people's names?

Anytime I see Dear Friend, or My Dear Friend, it is zapped anymore whether it be female or male and whether that person is dying or just wanting a better life...........no more at my expense.

Thats what I got. I reported it to the FBI website but I highly doubt they can do anything...they never even told me anything... I reported it to the IC3. I actually followed through and responded and now this guy wants me to pay

@Confused. Some low life scammers will try any trick to steal from innocent people.
Some use the names of military and ex military people and steal their identities.
Many innocent military personnel have had their names used by these scammers in this way.

In the same way that many scammers will pretend to be officials of various companies or organizations, they pretend to be orphans, sick and dying people, Wives or relatives of people who have been murdered or are deceased, etc.

Over the years we have seen how low these scum can go and using the names of good and honest men and women who served in the military is sadly how some operate.

This is why we work as volunteers to stop them and assist the victims where we can.
Hopefully, by posting copies of the emails the scammers use, we can educate innocent people and prevent them from falling for the lies of the scammers.
