Paypal on Side of Ebay Buyer-NOT
This summer May '09 I purchased a Grandfather Clock on eBay--at first seller would communicate-then he went silent- after 3 weeks I wanted to know where my clock was? I filed a complaint to Paypal as per their rules- explaining to the seller why-
I was just making sure if needed I would get a refund if did not receive my clock--
Miracles happen- The seller wrote to me saying that my parcel had been returned because it was in too big a parcel to cross the border into Canada. He was repacking it and I would receive it shortly--It was starting to smell??fishy but he was repacking it!!!--I received the wrong clock it was a 15 day and I had purchased a 31 day clock, all the glass was broken, the 1 side of the clock was crushed on the corners. It had obviously been dropped to cause this. The latch on the face was broken, The clock face said 15 Day Clock- quite clearly on the clock face and it goes on and on--
Please note: there was not even a crushed corner on the packing box- pics of which were also faxed--
I escalate to a claim--I sent in my emails to the seller which were ignored- I faxed in clear pictures especially the 1 of the clock face saying ""15 Day" and did everything as they wanted until Paypal instructed me to send the clock back to the seller-This would cost $100 of which I would receive no guarentee of their decision--
I questioned why when it was obviously a piece of trash now--I did say I would send it back if I received the proper clock first-
Well 1 minute they were looking over the claim and I had ANOTHER 3 WEEKS to supply more evidence if required-
Bang- out of the blue-2 1/2 weeks early- PAYPAL closes the case in favor of the SELLER-saying I had not proven that it was the wrong clock- remember the 15 DAY PICTURE- S/B 31 DAY- not to mention the broken etc etc--
I phone them- I email them- Paypal responds by saying they cannot answer emails to phone--phone people say to email and fax proof- I get names and direct numbers and send- lots of pics- This merry-go-round goes on for 15 days until the claim is dropped off the website and the seller got rid of his garbage and I was out almost $400 USD- I am Canadian--
Would I trust paypal again--Not On Your Life-
Anyone else have this much FUN with Paypal-their guarentee if a big fat fraud--how can you not acknowledge that it was the wrong clock-forget the smashed condition it was in--Their rules state I should have received a full refund for the wrong clock by itself- Am I Mad YES!!!
Happy Birthday to me--That is what it was for--it now resides in the box it arrived in-in my garage--I rest my case!!confused: [/B]

Thanks that helped- Bonny T
