If she tells you her name is Ekaterina Saukina and she says she's from Cherboksary then yes it's real. She has erased the patronymic name. Signatures don't seem to match so it's probably made from a template.

    definitely a fake!

compare the seal (the number in it: sth like 120 - xxx) and the number above (212 - 025). it has to be the same but it is not.

the passport number at the right... ahem :-)

it begins with 91 (or ist it 94?), which stands for "Karachay-Cherkessia" or if it´s 94 it would stand for the "Rep. of Udmurt"

besides: normally they did NOT user colored pictures in the national passes in 2003. (and there was no seal at the right side)

hope this explanation will do it.

EDIT: one more thing... the 212 - 025 would be correct if the id was issued in the "Tschuwaschija" Republic (no idea what it´s called in English :-D )

The name on the passport is Elene Igorevna Timofeeva.

The encoding at the bottom is completely fake.

When they start asking for money you need to run the other direction.

    Thanks everyone

Thanks everyone for your help on this. She told me that she owned a apartment in St. Peters-berg but she took out a loan for her dad and he never paid the bank back. She wanted about 3000 us to pay off the debt and once that was done, she could then sell her apartment and move here.

Ofcourse it was the same I love you type story but something just didn't seem right. She said that she was raped by a man and her dad wanted her to marry him. She said that this man owned a company there and this would be a financial merger ( her dad also owned a company) if they got married.

Her letters seemed so real and that almost suckered me in but you got to trust your gut.

It's completely fake. The machine encoding at the bottom is not regular machine encoding fonts.
