I have been scamed by this person who uses this email addresse [joianedicks3@yahoo.com]. They posted an add on Animalweb.com about a yorkie puppy and was asking $150.00 and i sent half to them which was $75.00. well i got an email the next day saying i neede to send another $378.00 for a permit to have her shipped from Paris,France to lafayette.louisiana around where i am located. well we started to wonder about it and didn't understand it. So we started digging and found that they where using Ipata. So we looked up scams on Ipata and the email [joianaedicks3@yahoo.com] was on the scam list. So please watch out for this email address i listed above it is a scam. This is everything i have recieved from the scam.

hi there..i'm soo....glad i found this thread. thanks for putting this on. i fell in love with the picture of a puppy yorkie named nina, and i think by the same scammers. the i think the person u refer to as joaine is calling themselves by lots of other names. right now, the one i'm dealing with is going by the name jessica ryan and gave me the same sob story as yours. i doubted earlier and more doubt came when they told me the flight hours from cameroon to my place as i know how tight our animal migration procedures are and it won't be as easy as they had said. thank God i found this to confirm it cos then my conscience would cleared out when i didn't reply to her mails and calls. they even tried to call me on my cell phone which i did not expect bcos i am from asia. so to other animal lovers out there, be careful and do post when scammed so that others would not get scammed as well. thanks again for this thread.

I am so so so glad to have found this. I recently found an ad on pennysaver.com for 2 free Yorkie Puppies. It sounded trustworthy, saying that he had to move because of his medical job, so i emailed him, then we exchanged a few emails then when the time came to ship the puppies i got an email saying they needed $170 for change of ownership documents. That's when it started sounding shady. so i emailed him back saying that i hope this was not a scam because i do not want to be out $170. A few hours later i get an email saying that he was a genuine person and blah blah blah (trying to make me think it wasn't a scam) and that he only now needed $90 for the papers and soon as he got it, the puppies would be shipped and at my house later this evening. This is the very first time i have ever been scammed like this. But i have learned my lesson. Only get your animals through rescue shelters or breeders that you know or know of.
