    Arrow Report phishing email

If you have received a phishing email, you can get it reported. Just forward it (it's good if you can add the email headers) to reportphishing@antiphishing.org

    Take action now against scamers!

If you get spam email that you think is deceptive, forward it to [spam@uce.gov]. The FTC uses the spam stored in this database to pursue law enforcement actions against people who send deceptive email.

    Ebay and PayPal Phishing Scams

As well as forwarding "phishing" scam emails, with headers if possible, to reportphishing@antiphishing.org if the scam is directed at Ebay or PayPal you should send it, with headers if possible, to spoof@ebay.com or spoof@paypal.com. You will get a reply, similar to the one here, telling you whether the email is "phishing" or not:

    From: <spoof@paypal.com>

Subject: RE: - Your recent report to PayPal (KMM105241360V83355L0KM) :kf1

    Dear Garreg Ddu,

Thanks for taking an active role by reporting suspicious-looking emails.
The email you forwarded to us is a phishing email, and our security team
    is working to disable it.

    -------------------------
    What is a phishing email?
    -------------------------
Phishing emails attempt to steal your identity and will often ask you to
reveal your password or other personal or financial information. PayPal
will never ask for your password over the phone or in an email and will
always address you by your first and last name.

Take our Fight Phishing Challenge at
https://www.paypal.com/fightphishing to learn # things you should know
about phishing. You'll also see what we're doing to help fight fraud
    every day.

    -------------------------
    You've made a difference.
    -------------------------
Every email counts. By forwarding a suspicious-looking email to
spoof@paypal.com, you've helped keep yourself and others safe from
    identity theft.

    Thanks,

    The PayPal Team

    ================================================

The technique I use is to click on "Forward" with the email open, and put " - Phishing Attempt" at the end of the "Subject" line and the following short sentence at the start:

    Sent: Wednesday, October 15, 2008 12:15 PM
    To: spoof@paypal.com
    Cc: reportphishing@antiphishing.org
Subject: Fw: Attention! Your PayPal account has been limited! - Phishing attempt

    Dear PayPal,

Please find another "Phishing" attempt below, with full headers and HTML source with the original message after.

    Amazon - anti-spoof and anti-phishing actions

Another very useful email address and instructions to report phishing attacks against Amazon.

Help > Security & Privacy > How to Identify False (Spoof or Phishing) E-mails
Help us to stop phishing and spoofing

Amazon has taken several phishers and spoofers to court; these cases came about via information provided to Amazon through the stop-spoofing@amazon.com e-mail address.

    Report spoofed e-mails to Amazon.co.uk

E-mail stop-spoofing@amazon.com and attach the e-mail you suspect is a fake. Sending the e-mail as an attachment is the best way to preserve the header information which makes it easier for us to trace its origins.
If you can't send the e-mail as an attachment, forward it to stop-spoofing@amazon.com, and include as much of the header information as you can.
Please note: Amazon cannot respond to all e-mails it receives at stop-spoofing@amazon.com. If you have specific questions about your account, please contact us.

Some hosts do take Phishing seriously

Investigating a Phishing attempt directed at PayPal members this had been done by the hosts:

The email you are responding to is BOGUS!
It was not sent by PayPal, eBay, your bank, credit card company or the IRS!
(don't get the wrong idea - we did not sent the email either)
You have been directed to a PHISHING SITE!!!
NEVER EVER give your personal info to a web site
in response to an email you receive!
    -------------------------------------------------------
Again, we DID NOT send you the email that brought you here - the email was sent by a scam artist trying to steal your account and credit card info. Please don't ask us why you received the original phishing email.

    -------------------------------------------------------
This has been a public service of http://www.phishcop.net/

If only all hosts were as good!

In addition to the addresses given in the posts above you can send a Phishing email as an attachment, with full headers if possible, to submit@phishcop.net and they will try to get their scam warnings put in place of the Phishing pages on the site. Their web-site is very good as well.
