    Fake UK from potential Victim

A previously warned potential victim sent this to me as part of a question on whether this guy is a scammer.

Reach out and touch a scammer from 24 miles (43,000 Yards)..

Fitzgerald Tony, although he's supposed to be Tony Fitzgerald. He hasn't learned about surnames yet. Or it doesn't matter. Fake ID at: http://antifraudintl.org/showpost.ph...2&postcount=26

    Looks fake to me:

    1) The MRZ at the bottom of the page should have the full name as shown on the data page
    2) On the second line, the numbers following the "GBR" should be the date of birth in YYMMDD format followed by a check digit.
    3) The background colour on the MRZ is wrong - it should be much lighter
    4) There should be a crown on the lamination visible against the light background at the top of the photo.

    MRZ???

Understand, I am just a nobody, sitting at home, minding my own business, and someone is trying to scam me. I have collected pictures from this person and now he sends me this passport image he said he scanned for me.

    What is MRZ?

    Sorry.

MRZ = "Machine readable zone' - it's the two lines of text at the bottom of the passport data page that are intended to be read by a computer rather than by humans. It should contain exactly the same information that's printed on the page above it. In this case, it doesn't, so someone must have tampered with it.
