Jim Hike Is A Scam!!

I got a reply on my furniture set that i posted on craigslist and read through it then something kept telling me after his second response that this was some dirty s.o.b. heres his reply:

Thanks for the swift response and do as well advise on the least amount you will like to give it away as i am buying this for Dad, i am happy to pay $600 but due to the nature of my job and location...i will not be able to come for inspection,am a very busy type as i work long hours everyday,i have gone through your advertisement and i am satisfied with it.

As for the payment..i can only pay via the fastest and secure way to pay online(PayPal) here.I have a private courier agent that will come for the pick up after the payment have been made ...so no shipping included and With the issue of my details,transferring the name of ownership and signing of all paperwork will be done by the courier services company agent so you don't have to worry about that.You can now send me your PayPal email so i can pay in right away and also include your address in your reply.If you don't have a paypal account, you can easily set up one...log on to www.paypal.com and sign up its
very easy... i would have loved to talk to you on phone but i work mainly offshore, our phone is down on the rig right now due to bad weather, that was why i sent you a text, i even wonder how my message deliver to your phone but for now we can only communicate through the same mailing channel.await your reply asap.


I am soooo glad I searched for his e-mail and name! I didnt want anyone else falling into a scam because of pieces of $h!t like him so please do not give him any information and just spam him! Hope this helped!

If they actually send a payment to a paypal account, whether they pick up the itme or not, how does one lose money here? I don't quite understand how the scammers make money on this deal if they actually send a payment into paypal.

There are a number of ways that you could lose in this deal. One is that they may want you to reship something to another address. It might be stolen merchandise and you could make yourself a party to a felony.

Some of these things are also fake check scams where they overpay you and ask you to wire the overpayment amount by Western Union.

I fortunately did a google search of "Jim Hike" and found your posts--thank you very much for that, as I have now forwarded the email address for craigslist scams. Just wanted to pass on that this fool is still out there seeking to scam people out of their money.

He is at it again. He wants me to send him my email address that I use for my ook anythingpaypal account. I did a research on his name and found this info about him. I just knew he was a crook. Do not send this crook anything.

I'm very happy I found this warning. I got a very fast response from "Jim Hike" on craigslist regarding a bedroom set I am selling. I thought it sounded odd so I looked up the name. Here is his response..

Thanks for your reply concerning my inquiry. I am quite comfortable
with the price and the condition of the item but due to the nature of
my health, I can not make or receive phone call as I am Impaired. I
will be adding $30 to the purchase price......I want you to hold it
for me before any other interested person.Please provide your full
name, Address and your Phone number so that I can send your payment. I
will be paying you by Check. It will take 2 -3 days for the payment to
get to you...As for delivery, I will make arrangements for the pick-up
after you have received payment,If this meets your approval, kindly
get back to me, as soon as possible, with your name, phone # and
mailing address where payment will be sent, so that I can have my
assistant get the Check ready.

Note: As soon as you have your money in hand, we can talk about the
picking up of the item. I would like you to take the posting off
Craigslist.org today.

Here's a reply I got to a German Shrunk I'm selling:

Hi Thanks for writing back.Right now I cant come to look at the item
because of the nature of my job. I am in the army and i work as a
Carpentry and Masonry Specialist and i have been deployed from Sembach
Air Base, Kaiserslautern, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany to Afghanistan
since October. We are not allowed to make or receive calls but we have
access to the internet and that is our only means of communication to
the outside world. I wouldn't mind seeing a few more pictures and I
am ok with your price. Right now the only way i can make payment for
it is via PayPal as i don't have access to my bank online and there's
no way i can issue out a check or something right now but i have my
bank account attached to my PayPal account and this is why i prefer
PayPal for payment. I will need your PayPal email address to make the
payment and if you don't have an account,its quite easy to setup at
www.paypal.com its also the same as paying you directly. I hope you
consider this cause i don't want to miss this deal. Since i cant come
to view or pickup,after i make payment i'll have someone come help me
pick up and store till i get back. Thanks for understanding,hope to
