    World Telephone Numbering Guide

    www.wtng.info
An excellent tool for researching the numbers scammers use.

A quick reference for UK numbers:
The following standard numbering ranges will be:

+44 1 ... geographic (conventional service) area codes
    +44 2 ... geographic (20x is London) area codes
+44 3 ... National rate numbers, similar to 08x series (Government, charities & other non-profit organisations)
+44 4 ... (spare range for future services)
+44 5 ... corporate numbering, eg Broadband Voice services, VoIP access.
+44 6 ... (spare range for future services)
    +44 7 ... wireless (paging/mobile) and personal numbers (+4470x or 070x The scammers favourite)
    +44 8 ... specially-tariffed services (freephone, local & national rate)
    +44 9 ... premium-rate services, provision for multi-media
See the website for more details, this is only a rough guide.
