These scammers write from IP: 178.33.221.5 - FRANCE. but the cowards may be hiding behind a proxy.

@ryken - File a report with your local police as stated in my pm to you and take all the evidence you have with you, again we are sorry to learn that you have been scammed by these low life losers.

A company matching that name and address is incorporated in Florida. However none of the names you have been dealing with are mentioned in the company records. This is a bad sign and would suggest that this is also a case of business identity fraud, wherein the fraudsters you are dealing with have stolen a real company's details in order to defraud you.

As Sapphire's Strike mentioned you need to contact your local authorities or a lawyer. They should be able to help you handle the situation with the laptop supplier.

Exclamation My letter to the scammer

Firstly, a big thank you to this community for helping me out during this ordeal- within minutes of posting my original post members were getting back to me with details regarding this "company". You all do amazing work and you have certainly restored my faith in human-kind Shortly after this happened (while very angry) I sent the following letter to this scammer. I'm posting it here, not because I am looking for sympathy, but knowing that some of these scammers are really clever and no doubt are surfing this site for tips or check-ups. So, if you are one of them- please take a minute to read this, hopefully you'll get some idea of what you are doing to people...

    Hi Victoria

Sitting here now, I am in absolute shock and disbelief after I received an e-mail from <blank>.com -where you got my CV from, and they have warned me to stay away from your company as you are dealing with illegal activities in <blank>. After what's happened this last week and the fact that I still have not been paid my salary I think I will have to trust their advice. If this whole thing was indeed a scam I would really appreciate if you will read my e-mail so you can understand the effects this is having on my life.

Firstly, before you approached me with this job offer I was scheduled to fly to <home country> to visit my family, after not seeing them for four years and especially because my parents recently got divorced and my dad is extremely ill and does not have very long to live. It took me months to save the money for this trip but when you gave me this job I decided that it would be best to stay in <blank> and I cancelled my plane ticket because I really needed a job. My mother was heartbroken and couldn't stop crying when I told her that I couldn't visit them anymore, but at the same time they were also very happy for me that I had finally found a job. I was mostly glad because this job would allow me to support my mother financially due to the divorce and the costs of my fathers medical expenses.

Secondly, as you are aware this job required me to have a printer/scanner, a digital camera, a permanent internet connection and a mobile phone. I was fortunate enough to be staying in shared accommodation with internet connection, but as for the printer/scanner and the digital camera, well, I had to borrow money from a friend to purchase these with the promise of re-paying him with my first salary. I also had to borrow money to be able to put credit on my phone should I need to make any calls for work. (which I did- numerous times as you will recall when I had to make calls to UPS and others). I did not ever mention this to you because frankly, this was never your problem and I was always able to do my job perfectly and on time, from day one. The expenses I incurred for this job I saw as an investment.

Furthermore, I followed all your "rules" and "instructions" exactly as set out and I worked really hard, at times late at night to get these orders out quickly and without mistakes. I stayed at home, everyday, from 9am to 6pm as I was told to do and I was willing to help you and give all I can when needed. Can you imagine how I am feeling right now, knowing that all this time you were lying to me, and using me for your own selfish greed? I am a good person, and I have been honest and upfront with you from the beginning, but most of all I trusted you and I trusted this "company". Right now my whole life is upside down and I do not see how I am going to get through this- and you should know this, because you caused it. How can you take advantage of someone that is already unemployed and most probably has financial difficulties?? Have you ever heard the phrase "kicking someone when they are down"?- well, this is how I feel. I don't have money to pay my rent, for food, tuition but most of all I don't have money to send to my parents like I promised them. Worst of all, I spent all this time thinking that I had a job, I planned my future and also stopped looking for other employment. Now I have nothing. I'm too embarrassed to even tell anyone that this has happened to me and that my "job" was fake all along, which makes it even more difficult to deal with.

I'm sorry that this is such a personal letter and I assure you I will normally never even consider writing so personally to an employer, or anyone for that matter but you have to know the effects that your actions are having on people! Please, as you read this mail I want you to know that every bit of detail in this is true, you have no reason to doubt my honesty and the reason for this is because I have nothing to gain or lose by telling you this. All I want to say to you is that I hope it was worth it and I hope that you can sleep at night. Maybe you should consider all the wonderful things you can achieve in life should you decide to direct all this kind of effort and cleverly devised plans to good use- it might be harder, but believe me the rewards will be greater. And I'm sure you'll sleep a lot better at night.

    Regards

@ryken. Thank you for your kind words they are appreciated.

It is indeed a shame that some people can be so low as to scam others out of their hard earned money.

    @ ryken,

Why would you write en email to a scammer?
Every time you click a scammer moans in agony; every time you post a scammer screams in pain!
