This came to me the other day and I did respond to it after looking them up on the web. Chugai Pharmaceutical Co is a real company. Did anyone ever go through with this? How do you know all they want to do is send you a fake check? Did any one get one? What could they gain from doing that? If anyone has any more info can you please let me know. Thank you

@Stephanie66. Welcome to AFI. There may very well be a genuine company with that name but it is not the company who is contacting you.

Did you check to see if the phone numbers are the same?

A large company like this would not be reduced to using a free email service like Gmail, they would have their own.

How do you know all they want to do is send you a fake check? Did any one get one? What could they gain from doing that?

They will send you fake or stolen cheque and ask you to cash it, take out your 'commission" then send the balance to them.
As you are in the USA, then please note that in certain states, it is an offense to be in POSSESSION of a forged instrument and can attract a jail term of up to fifteen years.

Later on when the cheque is found to be bad, YOU will have to pay the bank all the money back, and then you will probably get a visit from the police asking why you are trying to pass a dud cheque.

I have been in business for many years and a business does not operate this way. Why is it that they want YOU an unknown person to take payments for them, when the customer can send the payment direct to the company and it will cost the company nothing?

I RECEIVED SOMETHING DIFFERENT, AND TO LOOK AT IT THE COMPANY IS REAL, THEY SEND ME THE SAME THING BUT I BEEN WRITING THEM BACK, I ACTUALLY SPOKE TO THERE CLIENT OVER THE PHONE, SO AM TRYING IT OUT.
