Chase up the names, addresses, phone numbers, etc. of banks in the region, and check if the information the scammers give you is correct.

However, if it is not correct, don't let them know! Let them continue to make their mistakes, and who knows, one day they will send their information to someone in law enforcement who knows it's fake, and who is in a position to do some serious damage (like arrest them).
