Gift Card Scams (aka money laundering).

#1
It seems like all US Military from the rank of General downwards, oil rig workers, shipping line employees, and engineers want gift cards as presents. Stuff like iCards, iTunes to you and you can cheerfully send him them, I mean it was only $10 or $50, or even $200 because it is innocent enough. Right? It was for his children to get a present from Walmart, Apple, or Amazon etc . Birthdays, Hogmanay, or Christmas are good times to send them, or even for school books. He doesn't really want your cards, what he needs is the numbers (Think of it as being like a Western Union MTCN) and he is going to sell them for what he can get and, in effect, convert your legit money to cash, which is plainly and simply stealing your money and laundering it. There is no shortage of web sites and places he can do so but it is of no odds if he sells your $200 card for $20. He is a scammer and stole it off you. Your money went to Nigeria, Ghana, or anywhere else you can think of.
DON'T SEND GIFT CARDS TO SOMEONE YOU DON'T KNOW. IT IS ALWAYS A SCAM.
