Scammer USA Phone Numbers

Many of the phone numbers that scammers are providing in their scam emails, which appear to be phone numbers within the United States, are actually free VOIP (voice over internet protocol) phone numbers provided for free by VOIP apps like TextNow, textPlus, TextFree, or TextMe.

To obtain one of these free phone numbers only requires an email address and then these phone numbers can receive free telephone calls and text messages from anywhere in the world to any smartphone via the app. The free VOIP phone number can also be used to make free phone calls and to send out free text messages to any number within the USA or Canada.

So, even though the scammers may be located within a West African country, or some other parts of the world, they can make them self appear to be located within the USA using one of these free app VOIP phone numbers.
